Barre Dynastie et la technique Lotte Berk
La technique originelle de Barre

The Barre exercise technique invented by Lotte Berk is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Uniquely feminine and working to strengthen, lengthen and tone muscles with precision, you will unlock your inner strength and grace like never before.
Week after week, you will assimilate the fundamentals of this fabulous technique and give yourself the power to feel stronger mentally and physically.
Born in Cologne, Germany, Lotte Berk is widely considered the founder of modern Barre exercises. Of Jewish descent, she fled the German Nazi regime and moved to London in 1938 with her husband and daughter.
A ballet and contemporary dancer, she pursued her passion for dance in London before suffering a spinal injury. Determined to maintain her elegance and strength, Lotte turned to her osteopath to create a revolutionary series of exercises focused on strengthening the deep muscles and protecting the back.
In 1959, at the age of 46, Lotte opened a women's-only exercise studio in London called the Manchester Street Studio for Exercise. It was a very hard-working, but also very funny, exercise with unique names; her pelvic tilt exercise, which she called "the lovers' position," is a staple of many of today's leading barre programs.
Thus was born the Lotte Berk Technique, a unique blend of dance, rehabilitation therapy and barre exercises.
Transmission and dynasty
Véronique was trained in the Lotte Berk technique by Sophie Ritchie, a master trainer in the United Kingdom, herself selected by Esther Fairfax (Lotte's daughter) to continue sharing this fabulous technique and create an armada of women practicing these powerful movements.
